Binky Wars

Stealing binkies in this home is a felon. Unfortunately those who don't have the ability to commit the crime also don't have the ability to stop the act or at least fight back. That, however, does not extinguish the will to try...
Paul was so taken by the camera he didn't see his sister coming. He has such a determination. He actually propelled himself forward onto his sister. I decided to keep out of it and catch it on camera. Lydia is actually laughing in this last picture as she thinks this is a great game.

What does the Elephant say?

A day at the zoo. Yes, that is Lydia growling at the camera. Even though our nearly two year old knows almost all the sounds of the zoo animals, when she had the opportunity to see them in the flesh all she could do was growl and roar.
Paul was just glad we slathered on the sunscreen and brought that cute little hat. He did however love the peacock.

Tom's brilliant Idea

This box with the "x" will take you to the website...
Tom's brilliant idea this year is to run/hike the "Bald Eagle Mountain Megatransect". If that doesn't sound scary, I don't know what does. Basically you are trying to run 25 miles of mountain. So, all you marathoners that just need a little more cut throat in your run...check it out.
I'll do it if Tom wants to, otherwise I'm great with just another family fun run.
Oh, by the way you can check out our family fun run at my weightloss blog. I have a lot of pics of our family so I try not to post the same events on all one blog. However, you will find most of our bigger events on our family main page. What you'll find on the weightloss blog are family fitness n' fun events.

Philly

Hey for all ya who haven't been to Philly here's a taste sampler:

Lingo: "hot minute", "what's this John?"...used instead of "what's this stuff, or what's this", "you's guys", "harrible", "right" used instead of "like"

Places to eat: Doyle's Deli, Wawa has good cheesesteaks...I tried Geno's but it's only good with the wiz, Paul Revere Pizza and Acropolis, Reading Terminal Market...featured in National Treasure and fun to see what the Amish are selling (bread and fruit above).

Places for Kids: Philly Zoo, Smith Playhouse, THE OCEAN...but that's located in NJ, IKEA, Fairmount Park if you want to take a run and then let the kids play.

Places for Lovers: Anywhere in Center City at night, it's very romantic and pretty safe as long as you stay in the square, Regional Cafe...such good pastries.

Shout to My Sistahs

My sisters and I are always trying to eat better, encourage each other in exercising and best of all, justifying that little bit of sugar none of us can truly give up. They are my inspiration to do better, to talk kinder, and walk a little taller...or put another five minutes into my workout. If I am a lady it is because of my mom. If I'm not such that lady it's because of my brother. And if I am just me, without pretense, it's because of my sisters.

I wish I had more pictures of them, but when you are at home you don't think to take pictures.

So,I'm thinking of my wonderful best friends called, my sisters. It seems when one goes up we all go up and when one goes down we all take a hit. Here's to my gals to let them know I'm thinking of them today and maybe I miss them like I miss REAL cinnamon bears.

Love you guys and remember it's Friday!!

Family Run

Friday night Date- Night:

We all decided to forgo the movie and decided to go get some fresh air. It was a lot of fun. This summer we are going to see how many movies we won't see by doing other things outside instead. When I say movies I don't mean theater or cinema. I'm talking regular old net flicks or borrowing one from the neighbor saga because there's "nothing else to do" routine. It is entertaining, but for me at the end of the movie I feel like I just wasted 1.5 hours of my life, unless it is a really good movie.

I'm not against movies. One from time to time isn't a bad way to go, but when you "have" to watch one every week, you know you are just plain lazy. That being said, Tom and I have been way too lazy and it's time we actually do what we say we enjoy doing.

Pics: kids ready for a run, deer on the trail, done with the run...I know I look how I feel.

The Pain of Slow Weightloss

Gee wiz, I sure am taking the long boat to no where it feels. Oh well, I guess I'll just keep truckin'. In the mean time we could all enjoy a little spring. These are some pop-corn-popping on the apricot tree-trees I run by each time I go out. At least if running isn't productive, it sure is entertaining.

Until next week and keep up the good efforts I know it will pay off sooner than it feels.

Brick Walls

These weeks are seeming to pass all too quickly, sorry I haven't up-dated in so long. I'm starting to wonder if there is a mental cycle you go through in trying to lose weight. My first two weeks were awesome, three hit a little harder, week four and five were...well, they weren't awesome. I think I hit some pretty hard walls there. Maybe this is where many people give up on their attempt to loose weight.
I'm not going to give up that easy. Here's a motivational quote for all you die hard ladies who are battling the bulge (especially you mothers who find working out almost impossible): "Brick walls are there to prove how much you want something". Just remember that the next time you think how hard those pounds are to come off.
So, yeah, I'm having a rough go. It helps to talk to my family(since we are mostly girls anyhow) and my husband. He's pretty bad at admitting I have any weight to lose, but is really good at supporting me through my ups and downs. I also like having a friend who has the upper hand on health and fitness(she is a perfect example of staying fit as a fiddle while being realistic and keeping life balanced). She helps keep me motivated and sympathizes with my current situation. Having that kind of support web is crucial to my success. Thanks homies!!!!
